Elgin Community College (ECC) follows the official refund policy listed online at elgin.edu/refunds and in the printed course schedule.

You can view refund dates by class at elgin.edu/withdraw.

To check your refund eligibility and read the full policy, visit elgin.edu/refunds.

  • The first round of refunds is usually processed around the third week of classes to allow time for schedule changes.

  • If your schedule is finalized and you are not receiving financial aid, you may contact the Student Accounts Office to request that your refund be included in the next processing batch.

  • Refunds are issued using your original payment method:

    • Credit card payments are refunded back to the card.

    • Check, e-check, or cash payments are refunded by paper check.
